As an international student, you may design your own curriculum and select any combination of regular courses or you may concentrate your courses’ selection in a particular field or even you can do a little of both.

You may also combine your academic load with an internship or a social service.

We offer as well Spanish Courses at different levels and finally, you can also take part in our Summer Programs.

* Please note that you are allowed to take any course offered in Spanish as long as you meet the courses’ prerequisites and have an Advanced level of Spanish.

Internships

In the Tecnológico de Monterrey, Campus Mexico City, International Students have the possibility to carry out Internships and accredit subjects of their study plan.

Internships can be carried out in one Academic or Administrative Department of our campus, during the semester or during the summer period (2 months). You also have the possibility to combine them with some academic course(s) (except for the summer period).

If you are interested, you need to send by e-mail to the international coordinator the following information:

  1. Period(s) of the internship: January-May and/or June-July (Summer) and/or August-December
  2. Language of the internship: English, Spanish or both
  3. Field(s) in which you wish to realize the internship
  4. If the internship is full-time (40 hours/week) or half-time (20 hours/week). Note: In June-July (Summer), the internship has to be full-time (40 hours/week).
  5. If you will register academic courses meanwhile realizing the internship
  6. Send your CV (Spanish and/or English)
  7. Send the documents corresponding to the application process: http://www.ccm.itesm.mx/internacional/apply.html

Likewise, if you already have contact with the enterprise or organization (outside our campus) where you wish to carry out your Internship, you will have first to contact us (according to the dates mentioned below) in order to get to know the list of documents required for your student visa as well as to get the approval of the internship and to be able to accredit subjects.

Important Dates

According to the period in which you wish to carry out your Internship, you need to send by –email all the requested information (Points 1-7) at the latest:

  • October 31, for the January - May semester
  • March 31, for the Summer Period (June – July)
  • May 31, for the August - December semester

Social Service

During your stay at Mexico City Campus, you will have the possibility to take part in activities of our Social Service Department, such as:

- Tutors for Mathematics, Computer and English
- Sport and Cultural Activities teachers

Your participation will be very helpful and at the same time you will get the opportunity to interact with a lot of Mexican people !

Spanish Courses

All international students are welcome to take any of our Spanish Courses.
Our campus offers each semester the following levels:

Basic Spanish (6 hours/week)
To understand terms of reference and habitual expressions on topics of personal interest. To interact
adequately in communicative contexts that need a simple and direct exchange of information. To write
notes and brief and simple messages relative to his immediate needs. To know and value positively the
culture of the Spanish-speaking peoples.

Intermediate Spanish (6 hours/week)
Question words, noun gender and number, agreement and position of adjectives, comparisons, verb
moods and tenses, reflexive verbs, verbs like "gustar", complement pronouns, uses of the pronoun"se",
Difference between the verbs "ser" and "estar", imperative, prepositions, vocabulary related to student life,
hobbies, trips, traditions and environment.

Advanced Spanish (6 hours/week)
Spanish enunciation system. Indicative and subjunctive tenses. Object pronouns, value and use of
infinitive, gerund and participle. Reflexive constructions, indefinite pronouns and adverbs. Prepositions
and connecting words. Articles, adjectives and adverbs. Orthography and accent marks. Expressions for
interacting. Idioms, proverbs and riddles. Articulation of Spanish sounds. Reading and writing techniques.

Business Spanish (3 hours/week)
To understand phrases and vocabulary related with personal and labor topics. To read and find specific
information in simple and everyday texts. To know and value Spanish speaking countries labor culture.

Communicative Skills Development (3 hours/week)
Vocabulary, structures and expressions for everyday situations. Description and comparison of people,
attitudes and abilities. Characterization of people and relations. Detailed description of interior and exterior
spaces. Expression of intention, obligation, suggestions, and advising. Temporary location. Narrating of
present and past events. Expressing possibility and hypothesis.
